The Cereal Bowl, Cleveland Park’s cereal restaurant which closed in November, will not reopen as the company had hoped.
“The Cereal Bowl is out,” said George Pedas, a real estate broker who is searching for a new tenant for the space that held the restaurant.
Cereal Bowl Holdings hoped to find a new owner for the restaurant after it closed. Kenneth Rader, president of the company, told Cleveland Park 2.0 in December that “it’ll probably reopen soon with a new owner.”
It operates on franchise model and has two locations, according to its website.
Pedas has received multiple inquiries about the space at 3420 Connecticut Ave. N.W. since he put a “Lease” sign in its window within the last week.
“Hopefully we can get a lease soon,” he said, though he did not speculate as to when a tenant would move in.
The Cereal Bowl closed in November less than nine months after opening. Multiple reviews mocked the restaurant’s cereal concept before and after it closed.
Mel Silicki, a co-owner of the Cleveland Park location, did not return messages from CP2.0 seeking comment. Rader also did not return messages.
