Fast-casual seafood restaurant Tackle Box will open its Cleveland Park location tonight, it confirmed on Twitter.
I attended the “Friends & Family” event last night at the food was excellent, despite some hiccups in the service. My grilled tilapia was seasoned very well, the aiola went perfectly with it and the grilled corn-on-the-cob, though not very hot, tasted wonderful. I had a “Tackle Box Beer” as well, which was pretty good and only costs $2 for a glass.
Also, it was completely packed with a long line. But it was worth it.
I’ve written about Tackle Box extensively before. Go and read those posts documenting its journey to Cleveland Park, leading up to tonight’s opening.
The restaurant is four times bigger than its Georgetown location, complete with a full bar, raw bar and two levels of seating. McDonald’s was the last business in the space, and it closed in 2004.
Tackle Box’s Twitter post did not say the exact time it would open, nor its usual hours. Its menu tonight is new, and it will be rolled out to Georgetown soon.
I went there last night for the Friends and Family preview. I have never been to the Georgetown location, so I had no idea what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised. The food was good, the staff was very friendly, and the prices are quite reasonable. I will be back!
